MEET THE TEAM
Matthew Giesbrecht, BMR-PT
If you have spent some time with Matt, you know that he loves all things sports. This is evident in his passion in giving back to the community whether coaching baseball and hockey or volunteering in the capacity as a physiotherapist at sporting events in our area. It should not surprise anyone that one of his most enjoyable places to visit is Target Field! As a physiotherapist, Matt values the relationships he develops with the patients in the clinic and finds reward in helping them find solutions to the physical challenges they encounter.
Kim Sawatzky, BMR-PT
When Kim’s children were growing up, she taught Sunday School, volunteered as a parent and physiotherapist at many hockey and figure skating events and for many years was the Vice President of the Morden Figure Skating Club. This passion of helping others is clear in her professional career; Kim enjoys connecting with her patients and getting to know them better. During her physiotherapy career, Kim worked in Vancouver at the Richmond General Hospital and her time there instilled a love for the area. It’s no surprise that her family surfing trip to Tofino, BC is her favorite vacation she’s taken.
Jaclyn Rempel, BSc-MPT
Certified in Acupuncture
Jackie’s passion for Physiotherapy extends beyond her clinic hours. She is presently co-chairing the Manitoba Physiotherapy Association Communications Committee and has been a past member of the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba Legislative Committee. This time invested in “giving back” to the profession has helped to guide and shape the careers of current and future physiotherapists. Jackie also has a love of travel and seeing new places. One favorite travel destination was the Isle of Skye in Scotland. For Jackie, the most satisfying part of her career is having the opportunity to help people feel better and get them back to doing the things that they love!
Stacey Braun, BSc-MPT
Certified in Acupuncture
Stacey loves to be active! In recent years, she has loved giving back by utilizing her many skills in physiotherapy by volunteering at a variety of different sporting events like the National Women's Under 18 National Hockey Championship and Winkler’s Thanks for Giving Run – to only name a few. Stacey describes that her favorite part about her profession is the continual learning and problem solving! This is evident in her approach seeking a successful solution for the challenges faced by her patients and how she carries out this approach with a heart of compassion. Outside of the clinic walls, Stacey has a passion for travel. When asked about her most interesting travel experience, Stacey says it would be her visit to Chiang Mai, Thailand during the Loy Krathong Lantern Festival!
As a registered TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) acupuncturist, Andrea incorporates Eastern and Western points of view in her treatment. She enjoys helping clients live a balanced lifestyle through self-compassion, stress management, digestive health, hormonal balance, quality of sleep, and pain management.
Kristina Wilton, RMT
Registered Massage Therapist
When you make an appointment with Kristina her passion for helping others shines. Whether it is being a volunteer youth leader, assisting at "The Back Door Youth Centre" in Carman or volunteering at the Carman Alzheimer's Awareness Dinner, you will see how she passionately cares for those around her. This translates into her desire to care for people through pain or stress relief through massage therapy. Is it any wonder that Kristina's favorite place is Disney World? The happiest place on Earth!
When Leah moved to Winkler in 2000, she believed volunteering in the community was a great way to help her develop relationships and establish a sense of community. Volunteering in the many activities during school life led to a passion for education. In 2010, Leah was elected to the Board of Trustees for Garden Valley School Division and continues to serve in this role. The most interesting place Leah has visited is the North Warning System (DEW Line) – in the North West Territories When asked what is the most meaningful aspect of her career… she says helping people! Whether it’s patients or team members, Leah wants people to know they are valued.
You will see a “glimpse” of Wanda as she is moving through the clinic. On a typical day she doesn’t sit for long before answering the call “Oh Wanda?” and off she goes to make sure things run smoothly! She applies that same energy and dedication outside of work as well. Volunteering with the Cheer board, United Way, Sunday School and church clubs shows that Wanda likes to stay busy! When you have a moment, ask Wanda about her trip to the East Coast. She will tell you about the beautiful sights she saw including Anne of Green Gables house in PEI! Wanda says the best thing about her career is the great people she gets to work with and getting to know our patients.
Annie will welcome you to our Winkler Clinic with a smile! Her attention to organization and detail in addition to her warm personality keeps our clinic running like clockwork! In her free time, Annie enjoys coaching baseball and volunteering as a Sunday School teacher in her church. A family trip to Mexico tops her list of one of the most interesting places she has visited. She loves meeting new people and that is very evident in how she makes all our patients feel welcome when they walk through the door!
You will see Viv’s welcoming smile as soon as you enter our Altona Clinic. When not keeping our Altona clinic organized and running smoothly, she applies her skill and love for people by volunteering in church as a librarian and in the kitchen ministry. The next time you are in our clinic in Altona, make sure you ask Viv about the Gimli Glider Museum as this tops her list of the most interesting places she has visited! What is her favorite part of the job? Interacting with you!
Melissa is happy to be serving as a physiotherapy aide in our Winkler office. She is a mom to two amazing girls and she loves to experience new adventures with them. Whether hiking, camping, swimming, or biking, the Fehr family is always staying active and having fun together! When she’s not at our office you can find her working in her home salon doing hair, driving her kids to ball or soccer, or just enjoying time at home together with her family and their dog.
