Acupuncturist Uses Gua Sha on Acupuncture Patient

Gua Sha

After oil is applied to the treatment area, a tool such as a flat jade stone is used to stroke a meridian or muscle to help relieve pain, provide heat, regulate immune function, and promote metabolism. This motion creates a bumpy like sandpaper appearance, or petechiae, that will disappear within the week.
