1. Can you tell us a little about your background and what led you to become an athletic therapist?
From a young age, I was deeply involved in sports—soccer, volleyball, basketball, badminton, fastball, and golf. Injuries, including serious spinal disc issues and surgery, gave me firsthand experience with Athletic and Physiotherapists. Their care and the time I spent with them sparked my curiosity and admiration for the profession. In high school, I shadowed therapists at a private clinic, solidifying my passion. What drew me most was the opportunity to connect with people, support their recovery, and empower them—just as my therapists did for me. I’m driven by a love for learning, adapting, and staying active, and Athletic Therapy blends all of those values into one fulfilling career.
2. Do you hold any additional certifications in the field of athletic therapy and if so which ones?
Certified Sport First Responder
Certified in Myofascial Cupping
3. What’s the most rewarding part of working as an athletic therapist?
I love being able to work WITH people. This is done by educating and empowering my patients to make changes to their own lives! Seeing patients return to what they love—whether it’s sports, playing with their kids, or simply going for a walk—is the most rewarding part of my job and why I love what I do.
4. What type of athletes or sports do you most enjoy working with?
After coaching high school and club volleyball for 3 years, I have a special interest and knowledge in this sport!
In the field of Athletic Therapy I have worked with volleyball, basketball, football, and hockey teams, at the high school, prep school, club, and university levels.
5. How do you handle the pressure and demands of a fast-paced environment during games or events?
Building strong rapport with the team—athletes, coaches, and support staff—is key to effective emergency response. It allows me to delegate tasks efficiently and focus on what matters most. Clear, concise communication ensures smooth coordination, while flexibility is essential, as situations can change rapidly. Staying mentally and physically prepared reduces stress, and something as simple as taking a deep breath—both for the patient and myself—helps create calm and clarity in chaotic moments.
6. What is one of your favorite ways to unwind after a long day in the clinic?
In the summer months, I really enjoy going for a round of golf; walking the course on a warm sunny evening is one of my favourite ways to unwind!
7. Outside of work, what are some of your interests or hobbies?
Hiking and running in summer
Walking the golf course
Coaching club and high school volleyball
Spending time at the lake with family and friends
Traveling the world, and have been to 20+ countries
8. What do you hope to bring to this team and how do you plan to contribute to its success?
I aim to bring collaboration, clear communication, and a positive attitude to my team. I’ll ask questions where I need support, share knowledge where I can, and communicate with honesty and humility. Most importantly, I bring a strong desire to learn and grow for the benefit of the team and the profession.
9. If you could pick one word to describe yourself, what would it be?
Compassionate
